What is NEET ?

  • The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG (Undergraduate) is an entrance examination in India, for students who wish to join in any graduate medical course (MBBS/ dental course (BDS) in government or private medical colleges in India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
  • NEET-UG is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • NEET-UG replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves.

Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRI's), Oversees Citizen of India (OCI's), Persons with Indian Origin (PIO's) & Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear in NEET (UG)-2018.
  • He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.
  • The upper age limit for NEET(UG) is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category and persons entitled for reservation under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

For Candidates of Unreserved Category (UR)born on or between 07.05.1993 and 01.01.2002
For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PH Categoryborn on or between 07.05.1988 and 01.01.2002

Number offered Attempts:

  • The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at NEET-UG examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly to all the candidates.

Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats:

  • Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Oversees Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons with Indian Origin (PIOs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats
  • Candidates from State of J & K :
    Students from State of J & K are NOT ELIGIBLE for 15% all India quota seats as State of J&K has opted out of All India Scheme since its inception.

Qualifying Examination:

  • The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study are eligible to apply NEET-2018.
  • Candidates whose result is awaited are also eligible to apply NEET-2018

  • A candidate can apply for the NEET(UG) only on-line by logging on to www.cbseneet.nic.in
  • Candidate name and Date of Birth should be as same as registered in the Aadhar Card.

Admit Card:

  • The CBSE will provide the facility of downloading Admit Cards of NEET (UG) on the Board's website
  • Candidate should affix a Postcard size photograph on Admit card
