What is WBJEE-2018 ?

  • West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or the WBJEE is a state-government controlled centralized test, conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board for admission to private and governmental medical and engineering institutions in West Bengal.
  • There are actually two separate tests for medical (also called WBJEE Medical) and engineering (also called WBJEE).

  • Engineering, Bio-Technology, B.Tech. (Diary Technology), B.Tech. (Agr. Engg.), B.Tech. (Food Science and Technology),B.Arch(Architecture), B. Tech (Marine Engineering), B. Tech (Computer Sc & Engg).
  • B.Sc. (Ag)/ B.Sc. (Hort)/ B.V.Sc. & A.H/B.F.Sc.
  • B. Pharmacy, Pharma. D.

Eligibility:

  • The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.12.2018. A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2001. There is no upper age limit in appearing in the WBJEE-2018
  • Must pass '10+2' or equivalent examination from any recognised Council/ Board with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 60%.
  • For Architecture: Candidate must also qualify either in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi or in Paper 2 of JEE Mains conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.As per the norms and standards of the Council of Architecture (COA)

Application Procedure:

Mode of Application: ONLINE

Application Fee: Rs. 500/-

  • Through Online: Candidates can apply through official website of WBJEE only. The official link for application registration is given at bottom of this notification

Admit Cards:

  • Admit cards will be generated on the notified date for the student to download and take a print. Candidate has to carry a printed hard copy of the admit card to the examination centre.

Exam Pattern:

Mode of Exam: Offline

  • Paper-I - Mathematics
  • Paper-II - Physics & Chemistry (combined).
  • Candidates appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II and who are awarded ranks will be eligible for admission in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/ Pharmacy Courses in all institutes
  • Candidates appearing in Paper-II only and who are awarded ranks will be eligible for admission only in Pharmacy Courses (except in Jadavpur University)

  • Counseling and seat allocation will be purely on merit basis i.e. based on the performance in the Entrance Examination(WBJEE)-2018
